Bio
Hi, I’m Mateo.
I’m a filmmaker and photographer originally from Spain, and I feel incredibly lucky to say that what I do for a living is what I truly love. To me, this isn't just a career, it's a passion. That’s why you’ll rarely see me without a camera in my hand; I’m always looking to capture the fleeting moments that surround us and find new ways to push my skills further.

My background is a mix of high-pressure professional environments and deep creative study. I originally built my foundation in Madrid, Spain, earning an undergraduate degree in Communications at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria before completing a Master’s in Advertising at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
Jumping into the industry, I spent over three and a half years working at VOX, which taught me how to find the heart of a story in fast-moving situations. During that same period, I concurrently worked with brands like Gelafit to bring their unique energy to life visually. After balancing these fast-paced roles, I decided to keep expanding my knowledge and technical skills.
That drive led me to the United States to pursue an MFA in Film and Television at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, Georgia. I never treated my classes as just boxes to check—I used my time in the MFA program as a creative testing ground. By experimenting with everything from visual poetry to tabletop commercials, I learned to treat every student prompt with the rigor of a professional set. This dedication ultimately led to graduating with a 4.0 GPA and shooting my thesis film, Lo Que Dejamos Atrás, which was selected by the university for its festival run.

One of the best parts of what I do is getting to jump between completely different industries. I’ve had the opportunity to shoot and edit for everyone from local startups to international organizations, and every single project brings a new creative challenge. No matter the scale of the production, my favorite part of the process is collaborating with a brand and figuring out how to bring their specific vision to life on screen. Here are a few of the teams that have trusted me to tell their stories.
